Species:H. harpyja Scientific name: Harpia harpyja The Harpy Eagle is one of the largest eagles. It is also one of the most dangerous birds and is capable if killing deer but mostly picks off small animals like squirrells and small birds to eat. It is still alive today and a highly sucessful animal. Like some eagles they can ocassionally fish for food giving them a wide range of options to eat.
The harpy eagle is a neotropical species of eagle. It is sometimes known as the American harpy eagle to distinguish it from the Papuan eagle, which is sometimes known as the New Guinea harpy eagle or Papuan harpy eagle.
